We are pleased to announce that the Lochbrow Landscape Project will be returning to Lochbrow for another season of survey from Thursday the 12th of September to Saturday the 21st of September. We are looking for volunteers, both from Dumfries and Galloway and further afield, to help us with our surveys.
If you are interested in archaeology and would like to get involved in a research project, or are studying archaeology or a related discipline and would like some field experience, then we would love to hear from you.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given, though you should be prepared to be outdoors in all weathers. The work will involve assisting with geophysical survey, which will include setting up survey grids and walking with the equipment, therefore a decent level of fitness is required. If you would like more information about the techniques involved, have a look at the geophysical survey page in our techniques section on this website, or the explanation of geophysical survey here. Information about the aims of the project can be found here.
Please email us or leave a comment if you are interested in volunteering.
